Bootyard

Design and Development agency for idea to a working prototype. One acquisition and part of multiple funding rounds to partner startups.

Consultancy End-to-End Design Front-End Acquisition Philippines 2012–2015

I co-founded a web development and design shop called Bootyard together with my co-founder Ademar Tutor. Our core technology was Ruby using Rails as our back-end framework. Our design thinking focused on delivering web applications into responsive web design layouts. We used Bootstrap as our front-end development framework, alongside AngularJS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Ember, jQuery, Haml, and Sass.

All Creative Design Front-End Development
Division of work I owned all creative design and front-end development. My co-founder handled engineering. We took partner products from idea and early wireframes into responsive working prototypes and production-ready front-end.

Sample Products

Mandown responsive landing page redesign.

Mandown

Mandown Group is a consultancy firm based in Toronto, Canada. I transformed its fixed desktop website into a responsive layout while maintaining the existing design direction, rebuilding the front-end with Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Sass, Compass, and Azure deployment for live client review.

World's Greatest Explorer travel guide landing page.

World's Greatest Explorer

A travel guide web application for choosing activities by country and city. The client had an initial HTML/CSS wireframe, but the design did not translate cleanly to responsive grids, so I adjusted the interface for mobile and tablet clarity, including ad placement, using Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Sass, Compass, and Azure.

Social Scavenger responsive desktop application screen.

Social Scavenger

Social Scavenger is a mobile engagement platform for creating customized games with real-time moderation and scoring. I transformed the existing HTML/CSS site into a responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile experience, with careful attention to admin flows where users configure game mechanics. Built with Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, jQuery Mobile, Sass, Compass, and Azure.

Tlkbck recording studio management application landing page.

Tlkbck

Tlkbck is an online recording studio management application covering studio websites, scheduling, CRM, accounting, and invoicing. Starting from low-fidelity workflow boxes, I designed the interface in Photoshop and built the front-end with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, while Bootyard implemented the Ruby on Rails back-end on Ubuntu and Heroku.

Tourlust travel activities landing page.

Tourlust

Tourlust is a travel activities web application for people looking for unique things to do by country and city. I took it from concept with no initial wireframes into UX, UI, and responsive front-end across public pages, logged-in user pages, and admin pages for tour guides, using Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Sass, Compass, and Azure for live review.
